New Order from the tourist city of Rimini
Environmentally friendly articulated busses by Van Hool and Vossloh for the tourist destination of Rimini
The city of Rimini has decided to continue securing pioneering, emission-free electric busses. These vehicles will be an extension of the already environmentally friendly local public transit system in Rimini .
These vehicles, clearly quieter than diesel busses, will be taking the tourists from the hotel to the beach and back again without noise pollution. An electrically operated full air-conditioning will provide a pleasant atmosphere.
The 100% low-floor articulated trolleybuses are equipped with the newest drive technology by Vossloh Kiepe. Used in trolleybuses and hybrid busses, this drive facilitates a recuperation of the braking energy and a reduction of the energy consumption of up to approximately 25 %. Through the controlled supply of the electrical auxiliary loads such as the power steering pump, the compressor and the air-conditioning, the Vossloh Kiepe energy management facilitates an additional increase in efficiency.
In order to fully integrate into the intra-city flow of traffic, the vehicles will be equipped with a 175kW EURO-5 diesel generator set.
