FILOBUS DI CAGLIARI

The trolleybus net of cagliari (only on the island) came little more introduced exactly 55 years ago, 22 December 1952 and the net came realized and prepared from the Cge (Electricity General Company).
It has been the second Italian net (after “filocarri” of the Stelvio) it are put under tension 750v, because of the presence of some elevated slopes.
The net it was managed before from the TS (Tranvie of the Sardinia) and then of the ACT (Consorziale Company Transports, now CTM), and from that we can deduce that the attached photos have been released in decade 1957/67 (more easy 1959/62) since the trolley bus with logo TS.
The maximum length of the net comes caught up in 1968, when 33 km of net thanks are caught up at the opening also, in 1962, of the local lines for Selargius-Quartucciu-Quartu S.Elena.
From the 1971 the first abolitions begin, but still they remain in exercise 30/31 circulars to Selargius - Quartucciu - Quartu and line 5, this last one with introduction also of recent extension to San Michele hill, opened in 2002. In Cagliari they circulate today approximately 30 trolley bus (on the 36 available ones, the 15 units of Inbus F140 they have been removed) all of the Socimi model, similar to series 900 of ATM modenesi Milan and similar to the Socimi, for one distance total of approximately 900.000 km per year, transporting 5 million passengers.
