At the beginning of march works on new tracks in the city started, with the aim to create a second line in the city centre to relieve the only line there in Herrengasse.

In March there was a lot to see there: a jubilee tram, old type E1 trams including both of the Ring-trams (sightseeing trams) and Badner Bahn vehicles.

Half of the summer holidays are over in Vienna and so are some interruptions in the tram and metro network. Let me start with the interruption of line U4 between Schwedenplatz and Schottenring, leading to the extension of line U2Z to Schwedenplatz.
Since Monday July 31, 2023 this is over and there is another change: U2Z will run only during night hours and the rest of the day line 71 will take over its duties and was extended from Börse to Schottenring.

Due to the replacement of tracks within Währinger Straße , the above-mentioned lines were diverted northwards from 8-23 July 23. Lines 40 and 41 turned around at Lichtenwerder Platz, line 42 via Marsanogasse.

Line 10 was diverted in two ways.
The northern part was closed due to total renovation, the southern part was diverted to Westbahnhof resp. in Hietzing district, in combination with line 60.
The latter was only for three weeks, so that for the rest of the summer holidays line 10 yould run on the southern branch on the usual way.
